The Cure

A young cousin of Jessica had a report to write for her 5th grade studies and she chose Jessica to write about. I wanted to share her with all of you.

The Cure

There was a girl names Jessica that was 40 who passed away on December 28th, 2010. Today we have thought about her joy and happiness. Jessica had an illness that people could sadly not treat. Today, the Vega family has lost a very important person. Jessica lays in her casket and smiles to this day. To start off, Jesssica was alive with cancer for a long time to create memories with her family and friends. During this time she discovered that her cancer could not be treated properly. The type of cancer Jessica had was the same as Walter Payton.

When Jessica was diagnosed with cancer, I wondered if she could eat all types of food. She could eat just about anything she wanted. Later on she developed allergies to certain foods llike fish and peanuts. As I mentioned in this story Jessica stayed alive for her friends and family. When people would cry because they knew she was going to die she would get mad because she didn't like to see them sad.

Before Jessica died, she went to a cancer center to get medicine to make her feel more comfortable. The medicine only helped to slow down the cancer but not get rid of it. You see, there isn't a cure for her cancer so it would never go away. One night she went to sleep and did not wake up in the morning. The medicine did not kill her, her body just shut down on its own. That is what cancer does.

Until We Meet Again

To cap off the conclusion of Jessie’s funeral services, family and friends gathered at Dynasty Banquets. Joyous memories were shared amongst all. It was one last shared celebration with our beloved Jessie.
